Hello,

I trust you had a wonderful Memorial Day! We had a blast as a family and with friends. As a matter of fact I am still feeling it! It started out a cloudy day and ended up a cloudy day. However, somewhere in between the sun came out and put a sizzle on my skin.

That was not the only reason my day was wonderful. I found myself throughout the day full of wonder thinking of the men and women who had laid down their lives for our country’s stance on freedom. What was it like to die for millions of people you will never know. To really leave behind families and friends to never hold them or hear them or in some cases to never meet the children who were your very own seed! What is like to be away from all such people and to yet be living and serving our country in some foreign land. Not knowing if you will ever return.

Then I would find myself thinking of the countless of souls who never came to know Jesus as their Saviour or the countless who still might not. Unless those of us who do know Jesus as our Lord and Saviour tell the world of the great freedom we can have in Him. Oh that we would help make a memorial of the life of Christ.

Sunday I spoke a word that ended with “A Personal Code Of Conduct”. I am now on day 2 in my pledge of a 21 one day commitment to this code of conduct. I will be making it available to those who were interested in joining me in making this pledge as well. The scriptures included in the pledge are powerful and not only life changing but life giving. Our conduct is vital to our lives being pleasing to Christ. I want to have this testimony, “he was pleasing to God”.

Have a Jesus filled week!

In Him,

Pastor Greg

Wow!

It has already been three years since The Rock has come to Scottsboro. Time sure does fly when you are serving the Eternal One! I can honestly say it has been a wonderful journey thus far. I still remember the day we decided this was where we were suppose to be. And I believe it more now that I did then.

The family and I all know this is where the Lord has it in His heart for us to be. I am grateful to Pastor’s Rusty and Leisa Nelson for making this all possible by obeying the Lord to plant a Rock Campus here in Scottsboro. I would have never dreamt it but praise God they did. It reminds me of the words of the Prophet Habakkuk. “Write the vision and make it plain so that those who read it can run with it.” That is what we are doing, running with the vision.

This Sunday night May 17th at 5:30PM we will have a night of celebration commemorating these three years. Pastor Rusty will be present to speak a word to us as well. Afterwards we will have a time of fellowship with light refreshments. Please make plans to join us. Whether you have been with us from day one or it would be your first time ever we would love to have you come see what is taking place at The Rock.

Pastor Greg

Good Morning!

Yesterday at The Rock Scottsboro was fantastic! Now we get to “flesh” it out! What I mean by that is that we get to live it out in the “life that I now live in the flesh.” That comes straight out of Gal 2:20 where the Apostle Paul declares that he is crucified with Christ but nevertheless he lives but it is not only he who lives but Christ within him. It is so encouraging to know that God is continually at work in our lives to fulfill His will and good pleasure. It is in Him that we live and move and have our being. We serve a God who is a everyday God. And today is not just another day. It is the day the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I want you to be aware of what is coming up in the next few weeks. This coming Sunday May 3rd we will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Rock Family Worship Center in Huntsville. The Scottsboro Campus is planning on going to Huntsville this Sunday night at 6:PM for a night of worship and celebration with Lindell Cooley! Please make plans to join us.

Then on May 17th two weeks later we will celebrate 3 years here in Scottsboro! That’s right it has already been three years. We will hold a special service that Sunday night at 5:30PM. Pastor’s Rusty and Leisa and others from Huntsville will be joining us that night. You will not want to miss it and we will not want to miss you!

It is a joy and honor to be serving the Lord with each of you. Together we are making a differnce. And always remember. “he is the God of this city, and greater things are yet to be done in this city!

Oh Happy Day!

I love that song where it says, “Oh happy day, happy day, you washed my sins away.”  Here is a verse from one we sang years ago. “Lord it is good to be pure, sanctified and sure, for this you died on that tree, Lord it’s good to be free! And I know a place where the children can run, free from all accusation. We celebrate the great work He has done. It’s good, good good!

As I look out the window of my study today having just spent some time with the Lord, my spirit continues to leap inside of me of the great things he has done. I am blessed to know that many have come to know the Lord this past weekend at the Rock Scottsboro. And countless others have made renewed commitments in their walk with the Lord.

We are now fastly approaching our 3rd Anniversary of the Rock Family Worship Center being here in Scottsboro! To celebrate this great feat we will be having a special service on Sunday May 17th @ 5:30PM. Joining us will be Pastor Rusty Nelson our founding Pastor. You will be blessed as we together celebrate what the Lord has done in these past three years. So make plans to be there.

I hope you are enjoying our new website! I think it is absolutely fantastic. It could be as soon as next week that we will be able to podcast our messages from here in Scottsboro. So keep an eye out for that coming soon.

Have a blessed day!

IN Him,

Pastor Greg

Saturday we held our 2nd SkateFest Skateboard Competition (actually outreach) at Scottsboro Skatepark. This year we were blessed to have pro-skaters Brian Sumner & Pastor Jay “Alabamy” Haizlip to minister to the skaters, their friends, and family (close to 300 people in all). God held the rain off and SkateFest went beautifully. Brian and Pastor Jay ministered a powerful word in the middle of the skatepark and several kids, 2 adults, and 1 of the SkateFest competitors gave their lives to Christ on or next to a skateboard ramp! God is awesome! That night we held our first pulse:revolution service to cap off the day, and God just continued to work. Several of the skaters showed up to join us for worship and hear a powerful word from Brian Sumner. Again, several kids gave their lives to Christ including 1 student who had claimed to be an atheist, that is until God changed his life Saturday night. We had all of our visiting students head back to The Grid to hangout after service with our core students integrating them into the family immediately, it looked like our visitors had been in Pulse for a few years not a few hours. It was an awesome weekend. Thanks to all of our Scottsboro youth leaders and our students for the tremendous amount of work and time that you put into this outreach!!

Blessings,

Pastor Patrick Kritner

Wow! I hope you were able to be with us this past Sunday on Easter. We were gloriously surprised with a packed house. It was brought to my attention that we used every chair in the building. Now that is a good situation to be in for a Church. Especially when all last week the news media was running reports that Christianity in the Untied States is in a decline. I beg to differ. I prefer to believe we are experiencing an uprising of true followers of Jesus Christ.

Speaking of an uprising. We have some guest coming into Scottsboro this weekend whose ministry is called The Uprising. Dear friends of mine Pastor Jay Haizlip and Brian Sumner who are both professional skateboarders from Huntington Beach, Ca. On Saturday at 10:AM we will be hosting Skatefest 09. This will be a competition for teens to do their stuff on the their skateboards with a chance ot win some great prizes. That night Brian will be ministering to teens from around the area here at the Rock Scottsboro.

Then come Sunday morning you will not want to miss the ministry of Pastor Jay Haizlip. Jay carries a powerful annointing helping to set captives free. He preaches Jesus Christ and Him crucified. This will be a great weekend and one you will not want to miss. So make plans to come be apart of what the Lord is doing here at the Rock.

IN Him,

Pastor Greg
